The school year in Ireland begins in September and ends in May. Students may stay for a complete school year or determine individually the duration of the stay. In agreement with the school it is possible to stay between three to six months. As a general rule students are accepted in schools in January or September. During the school stay students live with host families and take part in the everyday family life. As a result language skills and cultural awareness improve and develop.
